Pair Caught Transporting Drugs And Alcohol

A man and woman, both aged 44, have been arrested in Port Augusta after police intercepted drugs and alcohol being transported to a prohibited area.

Patrols allegedly detected the culprits after they were caught exceeding the speed limit on Victoria Parade.

Police then reportedly located 340 grams of cannabis in various sized deal bags and over 100 litres of alcohol, which was allegedly being taken to a remote community in the Northern Territory.

The pair were arrested for trafficking a controlled substance and transporting alcohol with intent to sell/supply in prohibited areas.

Both were bailed to appear in court at a later date.
